Let’s define our new normal together. We are not going back; we are only moving forward. I understand that 1) I have immense privilege as a white woman, and 2) that as hard as I work to understand what it means to be Black in America, I will never fully understand their experiences. What I can promise is that I will not stop learning, I will not stop the conversations, and I will not stop until Black people feel safe, valued, heard, and respected.
For today until the end of time, I will work to collaborate with more Black artists so that they feel represented and seen in my art.
I will work to share helpful and relevant videos and or resources here and on social chanels that I find productive in my process of learning and unlearning. Regardless of the size of my platform, I will use it to amplify Black experiences and voices.
For August + September, I will donate 20% of all proceeds to the Loveland Therapy Fund. To quote their website, “With the barriers affecting access to treatment by members of diverse ethnic and racial groups. Loveland Therapy Fund provides financial assistance to Black women and girls nationally seeking therapy.”
Therapy is a powerful resource to aid in the journey of healing. A powerful resource that, unfortunately, in our society is not a free resource.
Check out their website here to learn more.
